OUR HISTORY
In 1997, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church began its next step forward in providing Faith Formation for its Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida parish and community. Under the leadership of Monsignor Danaher and Mrs. Linda M. Earp, Our Lady Star of the Sea established Palmer Catholic Academy with a preliminary attendance of Kindergarten through Second Grade. The initial school location was on the Parish Campus in the Browning Center. As the parish and the school grew, the need to expand the educational offerings and facility became necessary. In the fall 1999, a new facility was opened on Palm Valley Road under the leadership of Monsignor Daniel B. Logan. Students from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade now had the ability to earn an exceptional Catholic education in their own parish.
In 2001, the second phase of Palmer’s development concluded with the completion of a full media-center and enrichment wing added to the school. Students now had the full capacity of technology and creative enrichment supported by 4 labs, including a fully-stocked library, state of the art computer lab, art lab and music lab.
Within five years of commencing operations, the superior Catholic education provided by Palmer Catholic Academy, under the leadership of Principal Linda M. Earp, was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education when Palmer earned the designation of a Blue Ribbon School.
In the fall of 2012, the next and final phase of Palmer’s facility growth was completed with the opening of the brand new Monsignor Daniel B. Logan Gymnasium and Community Center at Palmer Catholic Academy’s Palm Valley Campus. Students have the full-range of educational enrichment including a fully-equipped athletic facility.
